Encanto Restaurante is one of the more memorable dining stops on the Rosarito–Ensenada coastal corridor. Located at Carr. Transpeninsular 1015, around Kilometer 52 in Primo Tapia, it is built directly into the rocky Pacific shoreline, with brick-and-stone architecture, arches, terraces and multiple levels that give it the feel of a coastal hacienda or small castle. The main attraction is unquestionably the setting. Outdoor tables sit almost above the surf, with uninterrupted ocean views and waves breaking against the rocks below. Live music, a full bar and expansive terraces make Encanto particularly appealing for sunset drinks, celebrations and leisurely weekend meals. The menu centers on Mexican and seafood dishes, with breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner service. Seafood, lobster, ceviche and grilled preparations feature prominently, although recent reviews suggest that food and service consistency can vary considerably when the restaurant is crowded. Overall, Encanto is best approached as a destination restaurant: the extraordinary cliffside architecture, Pacific views and atmosphere are the experience, with the food supporting rather than defining the visit.
