I miss the old End Zone. It seems like now it's a bunch of the old regulars mixed with some new douchebags. The carpet is the worst (and they purposefully chose it). It used to feel like a dive bar... but now it's like a dive bar that is trying to be a sports bar (I know it is meant to be a sports bar - but just... no). I keep going back bc my friends go there, but I can't say that anything about that places draws me on it's own. The food gets increasingly more expensive. $1 wings is NOT A DEAL. I don't care if they are jumbo wings. 75¢ is a deal, not dollar wings. Loaded Cheese fries are $10 now - what? Sure it's a big plate, but $6-$8 for fries really would be more appropriate. They changed their pizza recipe (specifically the crust) a long time ago. Still good, but soooo not the same. Pro tip: if you go and order a pizza while there, ask to have the toppings on top of the cheese, not underneath it. I promise it's better. The bartenders recognize new faces fairly well, and recognize old faces all of the time even when they disappear for a while (like mine). I will still go back bc of my friends, but I just spend less and less money and time there now.
Local eatery where you end up knowing the staff by the end of your dinner. Small local sports bar but good TVs for those looking for a nice sports outing. I passed on the Tuesday Ribeye steak special but the guy at the bar next to me got it and it's well worth $10.00 for a ribeye, salad, and fries. Will be back when in town.
Great atmosphere, great food and prices! For anyone who smokes, it's one of the very few places in town that you can smoke inside but still have a large indoor/outdoor patio as an option also. They stay open late (2am) which is great for a city that shuts down after midnight and the diversity in the customers (age, culture, etc.) is something else I enjoy. Everything is prepared fresh and the meat for the burgers is purchased from a local farm. The wings/burgers are large in size and cooked to perfection. The late night pizza is always a great choice... it reminds me of Chicago every time! Lastly, the fact that they support the local breweries is definitely a plus!
