Not impressed with the pigeon, which one of the waiters let into the dining area, spreading its filth around the place. A different waiter made a half-hearted attempt to remove it. The first waiter made no attempt at all, despite my request. This disgusting café has sold me its last coffee and deserves a visit from the health inspector. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–40

Had an amazing coffee and cake at Epoch Cafe this morning, just prior to seeing the Terracotta Warriors exhibit it at the Museum! Have been to this cafe many times and it never disappoints. I love the coffee here - so much so that I’ve been here just for a cuppa, even if not visiting the museum. Apart from the coffee I love the spaciousness of this venue…tables and chairs are not right up against neighbouring tables, like a lot of other cafes. There’s also a choice of indoor and outdoor spots to sit. And I love the ceiling with Chinese lanterns which add a nice pop of colour. Okay, I’ll admit, even if I am visiting the Art Gallery I will visit Epoch for a coffee, not the Art Gallery. There is a much nicer vibe at Epoch! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Other Price per person: $1–20
