We were a group of 8 and had a very short time to visit the restaurant . We were served immediately and the Lahmajoun was excellent as well as the shawarma sandwich . Price per person: $200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE IN MONTEVIDEO 1. After we were seated, we waited around 40min before a waiter (who was speaking to a colleague right in front of us during that time) decided to come take the order. 2. Right after ordering Humus as entry with some Pita bread, the waiter decided to finally bring the free appetizer that consisted of the same thing. Instead of letting us know that we would get a portion for free like every other table did right after sitting, but since he preferred to chit-chat with his colleague, we only got the free appetizer when we also got our ordered appetizer. (Gringos will always be fooled.) 3. The bill had incorrect prices, to which we complained and after some more waiting we got the money back in coins. 4. We didn't want to tip the Staff as we felt ignored and fooled. However, the waiter came to us with this very bold statement: "Usually people tip 10%". I really wanted to reply with: "Usually people don't wait 1h to get their food." We still decided to round up our bill with the Tip, which would've been a tip of around 35 Pesos. Now for the final "magic trick": As we looked at the receipt we noticed that the Waiter tipped himself 100 Pesos. In every country I have ever visited this is considered FRAUD. (Of course we will pursue this legally, because I'm not that type of Gringo, money and time is not a problem) 5. The food is dry and the piece of paper where you have to cross your toppings just gets cooked with your food, leaving a nice trail of ink on your Shawarma. JUST AVOID THIS PLACE. I loved everything I tried at Erevan. We ordered the lehmeyun ($125), sarma de repollo ($490), arroz pilav ($200), and falafel ($410), and honestly everything was delicious specially the rice! I really appreciated that there were good vegetarian options for me, not just one token dish. Portions were big and generous, especially for the price. The food came out quickly and you can tell it’s made with care and tradition, not rushed. It’s a simple, classic place with no pretension, just really good Armenian food. I’d happily go back and order the same things again, and probably more! Prices as of November 2025. Price per person: $400–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
