A hidden gem, Es Raco, is tucked away in the streets above Cadaques. Once inside the balcony offers a view of the sea. A warm welcome from the lady waiting on, who spoke excellent English. We had not booked, but managed to secure a table. We had bread with tomatoes to start. The waitress explained the specials, so we chose a hake and sea bream. They were served with sliced potatoes in the most exquisite sauce, with our fish proudly sitting on top. The flavours were delicious, the fish perfectly cooked. The wine we chose perfectly accompanied the food. For desert we chose the tap Cadaques ( a local cake), sweet and soft cake. Chocolate truffles, which were flavoured with orange and local liqueur . To finish our meal, we were offered a glass of Ratafia a local liqueur, tasting of nuts and herbs. Very good. This was the meal of our trip to Cadaques, simple flavours elevated to outstanding taste.
