I think a 3.5 star rating is appropriate for this location. The food is good not great. However, we have been to this location at least three times now. On our two prior visits, the service was okay. However, on this most recent occasion, it was terrible. I am averaging that out to a 3. Yesterday, the chips and salsa were served after we had been sitting for about 7 - 10 minutes, which is okay. It takes time to make the chips - fine. However, it took our server over 15 minutes to ask us what we wanted to drink or even serve us with water - I am being generous when i say it was a little over 15. He seemed like a hardworking man, but that is unacceptable. While it was dinner time, it was not busy for dinner time. Then, it took more than another ten minutes - about 30 minutes from when we were seated before our food order was actually taken from us. We were about to leave the restaurant. Ultimately, the food we received tasted good. So, we have no complaints about that. But, at a minimum, there should be water on our table within five minutes. There for a group meeting. The food was very bland. I had not visited there before but had always wanted to go and try out the restaurant. Needless to say, I'm glad I waited and was able to taste the food there and not pay out of my own pocket. I definitely would have been more upset. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

If you ever want to get harassed by a hostess who thinks she's the queen bee, look no further: insults and ineptitude are just around the corner. This ain't even hyperbole, the multiple low-star reviews on here referencing the hostess fully corroborate all you are about to read - though my tip is to just move on and ignore this sad place. Escalante's Fine Tex-Mex & Tequila is set up to catch people drifting in without having researched the place beforehand, serve them overpriced drinks without much if any alcohol in them. Also, to keep costs low, they rotate out inept junior staff at minimum wage. Your money is better spent and should not encourage this kind of business model. I don't even blame the junior staff (though their service is atrocious), I blame line managers and upper management for making pretty unethical decisions at your and their employees' expense. If you care where your money goes ethically, you should not reward this place. It's actually quite sad. Now for details. Service: We literally got sat down to our table by our waitress only for the hostess to come to our table and yell at us how we could have the audacity to pick our own table without her approval. When we told her that her own wait staff, who was right there, told us to sit down, the front person kept yelling and asking us to move (not even offering another table, just "get up and move"). Incredible. I asked to speak to management, who didn't have the cojones to even show up and apologize. They then tried to bill us for drinks we hadn't touched. When I asked if they were serious, they bulged. I'm serious here - this staff doesn't have an attitude problem, they're just extremely inept and undertrained, and will ruin an otherwise perfect evening because of extremely poor coordination and extremely bad management. Very very sad. Drinks: If you want a margarita with alcohol in it, you have to order - and pay for - the actual tequila shot separately, because they'll just give you lime juice. Not kidding here, we saw multiple tables have the same issue (people ordering tequila shots to add to their drinks b/c they were too weak) so that's not a glitch that's house policy.
