️‍ ️‍ Rating restaurants is always challenging due to the potential for so many things to go wrong. However, Essential Kitchen (a Wine Bar/Cocktail Lounge/Cooking Classes and Event Facility) and the staff made it quite easy. I do not hand out five stars easily. Having just moved into the neighbourhood, I happened upon this establishment whilst exploring the many businesses on the Pitt Street Mall. Having just dined further up the street, I thought it a quaint-looking place for a digestif. It turned into a bit more. I had read about the Essential Kitchen in various advertisements, and it intrigued me. The concept seemed rather unique, especially for Cornwall. Upon entering, I found the decor to be very pleasant and welcoming. The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I had the added benefit of listening to live piano music by a very talented young man tickling the ivories for me. I wanted to sample their food, but having just eaten, I did not have much of an appetite. I was offered a charcuterie board, and I did my best to finish it as it was delicious. I paired it with an excellent French wine that was not on the menu but graciously presented to me nonetheless. French wines are a rare commodity in Cornwall eateries/bars, sadly. I cannot comment on the cooking events that take place there, but the amenities I saw for them were impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and plan on returning with a larger appetite to sample their Pizza and whatever other gastronomic delights await me. Alanis Rae Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
