This was our favourite meal in Genoa. The restaurant is called Etra and it is hidden inside a historic building, They text you a code to enter on the day. The restaurant combines fine dining with art, the walls are painted black and the exhibitions change. The artist on show when we visited was David Reimondo. He explores the ideas of creating new languages using unique symbols. His artwork glowed like the moon against the black walls. The food was incredible and felt themed with the art. The menu was called Logos and the flavours were so surprising that it felt like they were saying something unique. Some dishes had flavours the linger after finishing the food as if they had more to say When the dessert was ready, they brought an ice cold napkin scented with vanilla. It was really cooling and refreshing to put it on the lap and so funny making eye contact with the other guests smelling their napkins when they arrived This was such a fun experience and Chiara made our visit extra special by providing incredible service. She was knowledgeable, passionate about the food, art and wine and made us feel so welcome. I wish we lived closer so we could visit again soon.
