This place has legit the best jerk chicken I have had outside of Jamaica. Hands down the best thing I tasted on my trip to New York. The staff was funny and knowledgeable and we got so much food for our money.

True Jamaican food. As a Jamaican I'm always testing everyone's jerk chicken. This chicken is really. You see them actually cooking the chicken on the grill.

Located at a mini Smorgasburg next to Hudson Yards at the Bella Abzug Park Fountains, Excell Kingston Eatery brings some Jamaican food to the neighborhood every Tuesday and Wednesday for the summer. It's a nice addition considering food options are still on the low end in this neighborhood. There are a few combinations to choose from and I ended up going with the Jerk Baby Back Ribs because...who doesn't like ribs of the grill?? Dish also came with a side of slaw and something called a "Festival" which is essentially a Jamaican fried dough. I slathered the ribs in BBQ sauce and was on my way to a filling up my stomach. I think the ribs would slightly be dry if it weren't for the BBQ sauce, but still satisfying overall. The festival and the cole slaw were also pretty good as sides. Took a star off for the service. People were nice, but the food took quite a bit of time to get out. I assume it's probably because they are dealing with the rush of locals working in the area and the tourists visiting Hudson Yards. Overall, will definitely stop by here for lunch again
