Among other British cuisune places to visit, this bar can be one of the best. Take a break and degust good sirloin steaks, mushrooms and terrine. In accordance with the guests' opinions, waiters serve tasty yorkshire pudding, coconut ice cream and sundaes here. Most likely, you'll come back to Exeter Inn later to taste delicious beer, ale or wine. Guests don't highly appreciate coffee at this place.

At this spot, you can hold any event, whether it's an anniversary, a wedding or a birthday party. Many people highlight that the staff is cheerful here. Fine service is something visitors appreciate here. This bar offers you a great choice of dishes at low prices. The beautiful decor and pretty atmosphere let clients feel relaxed here. Exeter Inn is rated on Google 4.4 by its guests.

You need to avoid this place until they employ people who do care, absolutely shocking on all levels. We walked in and the young lady behind the bar was more interested whether the dogs were included in the booking than anything else. She then couldn't adminstrate the payment anyway! She went off to check our room and my wife went off to use the disabled toilet. My wife returned and said the toilet was in a right state and questioned was everything else going to be ok.....I held my nerve because I had booked this place.... The lady returns and said room checked, already to go. Upon entering the room we were met with a strange smelling tired room, a stained carpet, dirty pillow cases and no working light in the bathroom. I called the lady back and showed her these concerns. She said she would sort everything and send an engineer to look at the light. The engineer was the young lad from behind the bar, who stated there was nothing he do as it needed a new part! The lady then returned and I questioned how somebody had cleaned a bathroom in the dark..... We then asked to see the manager because it was becoming ridiculous. The manager arrived and was truly sorry and said she would sort everything, offering a refund. I said ok we will go downstairs and get some food, to give them time to resolve. We went downstairs and the young lad behind the bar said "food has finished"! I said your manager has just agreed it.....off he went to confirm. He returned to say we can have food now.....We ordered 2 Roast Beef dinners and 2 drinks.....the lad goes off and we can hear the Chef shouting at him. The lad returns to say we don't have much choice left and no drinks. At this stage I had enough of this debacle and said we are leaving. The Chef then moans to me, half his order didn't turn up on Friday.....why is this my problem, get another supplier. I went back up to the room to collect our bags and the manager is scrubbing the floor. I informed her I just wanted a refund. She was truly sorry again (which I read in other reviews on here) and complained she can't even have a day off. So poor it was untrue and I did feel for her but you are the Manager. She refunded my stay and then I am left with finding somewhere else on a Sunday evening for 2 nights with dogs in tow. I said to her you only get 1 chance to make a good impression and you blew it at every level. Luckily we found an amazing place in Winsford.....which restored our faith. Sorry the post is so long but the experience was so bad..... I am still waiting on my refund too.......

Extremely disappointing experience at the Exeter Inn. I booked a table for 10 people a month in advance as part of my hen weekend and specifically confirmed the lunch menu advertised on the website. When we arrived, no table had been prepared for us and we were simply told to "sit anywhere", meaning we had to rearrange tables ourselves to fit the group. After ordering drinks and food, we were eventually informed that the chef had not arrived and there was nobody available to cook. This wasn't mentioned when we arrived or even when our orders were taken. We were left trying to find an alternative venue before being told nearly an hour after arrival that the chef had finally turned up. The menu provided also didn't match the menu advertised online, and some items listed on the menu weren't actually available. Despite being told our food would take around 10 minutes once the chef arrived, we waited much longer. The food was average at best, appeared rushed, and unfortunately two members of our group were unwell afterwards. To top it off, we had to chase staff for the bill ourselves, there was no apology, no discount offered despite the poor service, and a service charge was added to the bill. I appreciate the waitress was doing her best in a difficult situation, but the lack of management, organisation and communication was unacceptable. For an event I had carefully planned and booked in advance, this was a huge let-down. What is even more disappointing is the way my formal complaint was handled afterwards. Several days later I received a brief response asking for my phone number so they could call me. I explained that I wanted a written response so there would be a clear paper trail. Since then, I have received no further communication whatsoever—no apology, no explanation, and no response to the concerns I raised, including why lunch service is advertised from 12pm when the chef did not arrive until 12:49pm. Poor service is one thing, but poor customer service and a complete lack of accountability afterwards is even worse. I would not return or recommend. (Also a small cage outside pub crammed with ducks, they look neglected.)

Dear Georgina,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience during your hen weekend at the Exeter Inn. It is clear that we fell short in several areas, and I apologise for the inconvenience and frustration caused.I regret that your table was not prepared upon arrival and that you had to rearrange seating yourselves. The delay in the chef's arrival and the lack of communication regarding this was unacceptable, and I understand how this affected your plans. Additionally, the discrepancies between the advertised menu and what was available, along with the quality of the food, are issues we need to address urgently.I am also sorry to hear about the poor handling of your formal complaint. Your request for a written response should have been respected, and the lack of follow-up is not reflective of the service we strive to provide.Regarding the ducks outside, I assure you that we take animal welfare seriously and will look into this matter immediately.Your feedback is invaluable, and we will use it to improve our service and communication. I hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future.Best regards,[Your Name] Exeter Inn Management
