We attended Folio Bar after a recent Matinee performance of ART. Having enjoyed the play, we were keen to share our thoughts and discuss what we had just seen. In this instance having Folio bar located in the theatre makes it an ideal venue for post, or pre show drinks and snacks. On entering Folio, it gives the vibe of a New York theatre bar the subtle lighting, comfortable chairs and individually lit tables make it feel intimate and welcoming. Although the bar was relatively busy, the acoustics are such that it is easy to have a conversation with those around your table. Upon being seated we were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable waiter who gave us a brief rundown of some favourite food and drinks. When I ordered an Old-Fashioned cocktail, I was very happy to see that I could nominate a scotch from a large selection to mix in the cocktail. I went with a 16-year-old Lagavulin and the result was delicious. Since we had eaten pre -show, we opted not to go for the more substantial dishes but rather chose, Crispy fried eggplant, lao gan ma chilli caramel and chives, and Jamón and Manchego croquettes. Both dishes arrived in a timely manner and were, hot, fresh and extremely tasty. Although, I assume that the staff may have been preparing for the pre-show crowd at the evening performance, we never felt rushed or anything but welcomed to be there. I will definitely be booking for a pre show meal when I next attend the Roslyn Packer Theatre. All in all a great experience, well done Folio Bar Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Dined there before the theatre. It's right next to Roslyn Packer, so this is their standard clientele. Main course arrived ONE HOUR after ordering, less than 15 minutes before curtain up. They blamed a system glitch and comped the food, but this is a monumental piece of incompetence. We will not be going back. If you have all evening, the food is great, by the way. A bit pricey, especially if you can't get basic service right. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
