Once the promenade around the Filey Museum is over, visit Fadó & Tide. British and Irish cuisines are must-order ones at this bar. Tasty chicken, sandwiches and bacon may be what you need. Delicious beer is worth a try here. Order good coffee.

The intimate atmosphere of Fadó & Tide allows visitors to relax after a hard working day. The competent staff meets you at this place all year round. Cool service is something guests agree upon here. You will like democratic prices. Google users are quite generous with this spot: it was rated 4.8 stars.

The bar is great at certain times of the day. However, if you happen to visit in the morning. It is likely one of the staff members will be polishing the hand pump support. Obviously brasso stinks and is slightly toxic and should not be used during working hours of a commercial establishment. However, this particular member of staff obviously has so little to do that she has taken upon herself to attempt to poison the customers. Irony is, the pump surround will not be solid brass and will most likely be electroplated steel. A material brasso will actually damage as the abrasive nature of brasso will eventually remove the copper plating. Like I said, the bar is great when you can get a seat at any other time of the day. Possibly one of the better watering holes in Filey, but I just cannot help but frown upon being poisoned. Avoid in the mornings and do not expect the seating to be comfortable and you will enjoy your visit to fido and tide. If not for the woman's obsessive polishing I would give a higher rating, but literally every morning I have been in, she has been enthusiasticly polishing away, bottles of brasso open and the air distinctly thick with ammonia and petroleum distillates... Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. We’re pleased to hear you consider us one of the better spots in Filey and that you enjoy the bar at other times of the day. We do, however, take your concerns seriously. The product used is applied as part of our regular cleaning and maintenance routine, but it should always be done with consideration for customer comfort and in a well-ventilated environment. We certainly would never knowingly do anything that could make guests feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Your comments regarding both the timing and frequency of this task have been noted, and we will review our morning cleaning procedures with the team to ensure a better experience for everyone visiting early in the day. We appreciate the constructive parts of your review and hope you may consider visiting again in the future.
