A very rude lady didn't let as sit because we put a small backpack on the chair. Nowhere in the world something like that has ever happened again to me (!) Extremely rude for no reason. This is not human. Also the coffeshop itself seems old, rather dirty, and in a bad condition. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

AVOID AT ANY COST Rude people! No manners at all. An old lady didn’t even let us sit (me and my mother) because we put a small bag on the chair -the place had no customers at the time so we did not occupied the chair. Very inhuman behaviour. Also, the whole place looked dirty and at a bad condition. Worst experience in Rome -we simply wanted a coffee. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I approached Bar Farnese with a sense of unease, having already studied the written warnings left behind by customers who came unprepared. This is not a coffee shop that meets you halfway. It watches. It waits. Behind the counter, two elderly Italian women surveyed the room like wolves at the edge of a clearing, alert for hesitation. Several tourists were swiftly caught, corrected, and released back into the street, visibly shaken. We passed unnoticed for a time. Then I was chosen. A smile emerged. The mood shifted. In moments, a cappuccino and maritozzo were created with the precision of a practiced ritual and the confidence of people who have never doubted themselves once. There is a strict formula to survival here. Enter knowing exactly what you want. Order without drama. Step back. Do not interfere. When payment is requested, comply without questions and leave before the spell is broken. Bar Farnese is gritty, unyielding, and unapologetically Roman. It offers no comfort, only excellence and only on its own terms. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Other Price per person: €1–10
