It’s OK. I only go to the store if I just have to grab a couple things because their prices are a bit outrageous. If you’re a person that does your entire weekly or monthly grocery shopping at Family Fare, consider doing it at Walmart or even Target. You would save yourself a considerable amount of money!!!

On April 4th, 2024, my wife and I went into the Family Fare store on 1230 N Washington St in Papillion, NE. We decided to get some fried chicken, and so we approached the deli counter. The first thing I noticed was that there were four or five people waiting, and the chicken bins were nearly empty. A guy named Levar was the only one working in the deli. I saw him shaking his head and rolling his eyes as he headed into the freezer. When he came out, he was carrying a bunch of supplies needed to make more chicken. As he exited the freezer, he swung the boxes he was carrying to slam the freezer door shut behind him. Well, he swung it in an obviously aggressive and angry way. The freezer door slammed very hard, and he was muttering to himself and shaking his head. He put the boxes of supplies down and approached a woman at the counter. She hesitantly asked if she should come back later, and then he told her with exasperation that she should come back later because he doesn't have anything right now. The lady quickly left. The other people who were hovering around and waiting also left soon after. So, I approached the counter to ask how much longer until any fried chicken might be ready. He rolled his eyes and sighed and then told us it would be a while because there were orders ahead of us. So, we left. We have dealt with this guy before in the past, and it has always been clear that he has anger issues and possibly some kind of mental problem. I reported this incident to a manager named Troy. Troy was standing within clear eyesight of the Deli and seemed to have been watching what had transpired. I approached and explained the situation. I described how Levar had slammed the freezer door aggressively and sighed and rolled his eyes a lot. I will never forget this man's ridiculous response... He told me that this was my perception and not necessarily what had happened. He also told me that he has been working with Levar for years and has not noticed this type of problem before. I promptly told him that witnessing someone being rude, rolling their eyes, and sighing is not just my perception but is also reality. Troy then walked away and headed over to the Deli. He excused himself but did not seem interested in what I was saying. Later, I was talking to the customer service lady to get the Family Fare customer service number, and Troy saw me there. He walked up and asked if I needed help, and I told him I was going to report all of what happened to customer service. I could see and feel that he was not happy about this, but he got me the number. I tried contacting them multiple times, but so far, they have not reached back out to me to resolve this. It is very sad that the standards of customer service and customer care have fallen so far. To be fair, there are many things I like about the store. They have great produce and a terrific bakery department. Their donuts and rolls are always fresh and made very well. So, I will continue to go back, but if I do go back to the deli, it will only be on Tuesdays because that is Levar's day off. I will also try to spend as little as possible in this store because of this and because many of their prices are too high. Update: Yesterday,Tuesday, Troy called me and apologized and gave me a $25 gift card. I used the gift card to order chicken at the Deli, and Levar was there, even though I was told that Tuesdays were his day off, and he seemed much better with his customer service skills and demeanor. So, I am happy about this turn of events. Hope it continues.
