Im disappointed I didn’t try the smash. I ordered the fried chicken with Mac salad, which was average. I really wanted to like this place, it does feel like a neighborhood friendly spot. I couldn’t get around coming here on a regular basis because the prices are absurd. It feels like they are pinching pennys where they can on the menu. Booth seating was torn up and not level, half of me was sitting on wood and the other a booth cushion. Service was slow, minimal check ins. The flavor profiles of the dishes were super unique and you can tell there is a ton of intention put into the menu. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $40–50

Felt robbed. Way overpriced menu. On top of that: Default tipping options are 22, 27, 32 … all after tax. Ridiculous. Guess they are now just milking past hype - good luck, it will run out. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Not surprised why NYT named familyfriend one of the best restaurants in US in 2024. Food here is consistently good. The much hyped burger is definitely one of the best, but, pro tip that you must get it with double patty. Corn soup with chicken has been good every single time we have been here (which has been several) and have appreciated their flexibility with splitting for 3, which has been a good portion size. Not to forget the coconut lemonade which is satisfyingly refreshing. Service is good too. It can get loud inside since it’s a small cozy place and so we wait for them to open outdoor seating (which I think is during summer) because it’s relatively quieter outside.
