Last night, I visited this restaurant during a recent trip to Philly. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing from start to finish. The food was great, but the service/our server ruined EVERYTHING. Upon arrival for our reservation, we requested outdoor seating, which was unavailable at the time. (No worries, it was a nice night!) The hostess was courteous and seated us indoors to be served while we waited for an outdoor table to become available. However, the service quickly declined from that point. Our initial server took an unusually long time to greet us. When she finally approached, she took both our drink and appetizer orders. About 15 minutes later—still without drinks—the hostess returned and let us know a table was available outside. We moved, and then waited another 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. A new server eventually approached and asked what we would like to order. I explained that we had already placed our drink and appetizer orders over 30 minutes prior and hadn’t received any updates. She said she would check on them but failed to return with any meaningful information or communication. Our drinks finally arrived shortly thereafter—nearly an hour after ordering. It took another full hour for our appetizer to arrive. When I asked for a status update during that time, the only response was “the kitchen is backed up” and she walked away. I completely understand that delays happen, but being left without any proactive communication or acknowledgment was frustrating. The server seemed indifferent throughout the experience—never once checking in, offering plates, or asking if we needed anything.. not ONE time did she ask. When it came time to pay, I politely expressed my dissatisfaction and shared that this was one of the most inattentive service experiences I’ve had. The response? A simple “okay,” followed by walking away. No apology, no accountability. Nothing. This experience was not just about slow service—it was about a total lack of hospitality, communication, and basic attentiveness. I left feeling extremely disappointed and disrespected as a guest. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as no guest should feel this way after dining out.

One of my favorite places in the city and a hidden gem of Fairmount. My sister has lived in Fairmount for almost two decades and this is our neighborhood joint. It’s our favorite for truffle fries, fig mule, flatbreads, calamari, and salmon is delicious. Brunch is also always delicious here. Literally anything you get on the menu will be tasty. The owner George is a super great person and has even let me host my best friends bridal should here a number of years ago. It’s a Gem within Fairmount. He also seems to have opened an oyster bar across the street which will will try soon as well. The menu changes seasonally due to whatever is available from the farms he sourced. Here are some pictures from over the years! Definitely check Fare out!
