Thomas J Walls Coffee is a charming coffeehouse in Edinburgh that serves excellent coffee, delicious food, and freshly squeezed juices. The establishment is cozy and inviting, with a vintage interior design featuring original wood paneling, stained glass windows, and a fireplace. The ambiance is perfect for a catch-up with friends, a casual meeting or a quiet study session. Prices are reasonable, but some items on the menu are a bit pricey. The location is convenient, close to the National History Museum and Greyfrairs The Bobby. The cafe has a few outdoor seating options for those who prefer to enjoy their coffee al fresco. The menu features a variety of dishes, including Shakshuka, Avocado Toast & Poached Egg, Rosti, and Fried Egg Sandwich. They also serve soups, sandwiches, and pastries. For drinks, they offer a great selection of teas, coffees, fresh juices, soft drinks, and cocktails. The hot chocolate is a must-try, as well as the Earl Grey tea and the freshly made apple juice. Overall, Thomas J Walls Coffee is a fine dining spot that offers a unique and enjoyable coffee experience in Edinburgh.

Heard about the scones so thought I must definitely come here for it. It did not disappoint! This place has great fruit and cheese scones! It was nice, fluffy and crumbly. It also has a very cozy ambience, and the decorations are spot on. Some furnitures do look very worn out with some tears, so some replacement may be needed. I have to admit: The cake is great, we tested several ones like the Guiness cake or lemon and poppy seeds. But: We arrived at 17.45h and wanted to order a sandwich. She denied our order with the remark that the kitchen was already closed. I really thought she joking, so I asked for the soup of the day. Again, same answer: The kitchen is already closed. Is that normal in Edinburgh or in Scotland? Or is it the policy of Thomas J Walls Coffee? They close the kitchen 1.15h before the official closing time? How do they make money? 5 stars for the cake, 2 stars deduction for the closed kitchen.
