Worst service I’ve had in a long time. Obviously the wait staff is overloaded, but I had to stand next to my seat for three to four minutes because they called to have that table cleaned from last guest and the waiter had put drinks tray there while he chit chatted with another table. The plates were removed, but the glasses, coffee cups, and powder sugar remained while we were seated. Asked if ready to order - no menus had been given yet. Ordered food arrived and the table STILL WASN’T Cleaned and the server was just going to sit our order in the mess. I asked for it to be cleaned first. That happened within a minute, but because of that confusion- no silverware was left on table, so had to wait another couple minutes with food on the table to get silverware. Then when I cut up my pancake - no syrup. I had to wait about 10 minutes for that to be fixed. And waiter refilled two tables drink orders and took another table’s full order before he realized he never brought the syrup out. Was really embarrassing for me and my guest. We originally planned to have brunch at Miss Toyas in the same shopping center, but after an extremely rude experience with their host staff, we decided to leave and give First Watch a try instead. And WOW, the difference in customer service and hospitality were NIGHT AND DAY. From the moment we walked in, the ENTIRE First Watch crew was wonderful, charismatic, welcoming, upbeat, and full of energy. The warmth and hospitality from the host was such a breath of fresh air, and she probably had no idea how much we appreciated it after the experience we had just had elsewhere. Our waitress Jaho, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and helpful. What really stood out, though, was that it wasn’t just one or two employees providing great service. The entire team seemed to work together. Different staff members stopped by to deliver food, clear things away, and make sure everything was taken care of. At one point, we even heard the crew come together to sing Happy Birthday to someone in the kitchen. The whole restaurant just had such a warm, positive atmosphere. And on top of all that, the food was fantastic! The drinks were flavorful, everything came out delicious, and the value was incredible. We spent around $60 and had waffles, iced coffee, lemonade, avocado toast, eggs, bacon, pancakes, potatoes, chocolate chips, blueberries, and more. We had better seating, MUCH better customer service, great food, and spent less than half of what we expected to spend at our original brunch destination. Sometimes a bad experience somewhere else leads you exactly where you should have gone in the first place. We will absolutely be back, and First Watch will now be my FIRST choice for brunch whenever I’m visiting Laurel! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
