We recently ate at First Watch in Oak Ridge, TN, and the food and service were spectacular. One of my biggest pet peeves is walking into an establishment and not being acknowledged. I’m not asking for much—just a simple greeting to let me know you know I’m there. Unfortunately, that seems to be a lost art these days. First Watch got it exactly right. As soon as we walked in, they welcomed us and let us know they would be with us in just a minute. It made a great first impression. Our server was at the table within seconds, warmly welcoming us and taking our drink order. She quickly returned with fresh coffee and offered a few suggestions from the new menu. I ordered the Traditional Breakfast and upgraded to the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Wow! The pancakes were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. My wife chose the Chipotle Steak & Queso Hash, and it was packed with flavor. The steak was incredibly tender, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, and every bite looked amazing. I have to admit, I was a little jealous! Throughout the meal, our server kept the coffee flowing and checked in often without ever being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed. I usually prefer supporting locally owned restaurants, but my wife wanted to give First Watch a try. I’m glad she did—it was an excellent choice, and we’ll definitely be back. The First Watch in Oak Ridge is my favorite in the area. The ambience is open, airy, and fresh. The food is always delicious. Sundays are their busiest so expect longer wait times. Liam and Rachel especially are excellent servers and always bring professionalism and humor to the experience. Highly recommend. Will come again.
