We had a take out from here last night, the 12 deep queue would suggest quality but when we got our fish and chips it was shocking, one piece of fish was so small I've seen bigger fish fingers, my only regret is I never took a pic to post, it was embarrassing. There are much better places locally. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

My partner and I popped into Fishers of Hunstanton over the weekend after a local recommended it, and honestly, it turned out to be the best choice we could have made. We wandered in just before closing, fully expecting the usual end-of-day rush, but the staff were unbelievably friendly, down-to-earth and genuinely welcoming. Not once did we feel hurried – if anything, they made us feel like old friends dropping by. The quality of the food was exceptional. We didn’t mind spending a bit more for the sides because it was absolutely worth every penny. It’s rare these days to come across a seaside chippy that actually serves fresh seafood when they’re right by the coast, but Fishers truly delivered. Nothing frozen, nothing microwaved – just proper fresh fish, perfectly cooked. I went for the seafood platter (£17), which came with chips and a choice of gravy, beans, mushy peas or curry. The platter itself was fantastic – fresh cod bites, scampi, calamari and another bit of seafood I unfortunately can’t recall, all served with lemon wedges. Every bite was beautifully crisp and full of flavour. The cod bites in particular were a standout: freshly battered, cooked right there and then, and miles better than anything I’ve had in a long time. My partner ordered the cod & prawn fishcake with chips and gravy (£13.50), and we also couldn’t resist adding a battered sausage, some scampi, a beer and a J20. Altogether, the bill came to around £49 – and for the quality, portion sizes and service, it felt more than fair. Now, I have to mention the chips. I never finish my chips – ever. But these? Crispy, golden, and delicious even without sauce. It’s been ages since I’ve had chips this good, and I genuinely enjoyed every last one. Only comment would make it the sausage wished it was a jumbo battered sausage and only one of my calamari ring from seafood platter was just slightly over well-done. (It was the only one piece but not complaining since it was just my preference however, my partner loved the very well-done of the one calamari ring). All in all, Fishers of Hunstanton is a proper treasure. Fresh seafood, generous portions, lovely staff and top-notch quality. If you’re in Hunstanton and fancy fish and chips done right, this is absolutely the place to go. We stumbled upon it by chance, but we’ll definitely be coming back on purpose. Highly recommended! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Price per person: £30–40 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a small step on the outside of the store. But there is a wide walkway to the toilets and a disabled toilet.

Visiting Hunstanton for our wedding anniversary & chose Fishers Restaurant for our fish ‘n chips meal - it was SO GOOD … an absolute plateful of succulent cod, plus the chips & mushy peas. And … value for money - ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.
So … no brainer, we’re going back tomorrow night !!!
