Still, at close to $14 for a burger, fries, and drink, didn't get a lot of bang for my buck. Better burgers can be had at the nearby Applebee's or Ruby Tuesdays for about the same price or less, or a few miles down the road at the Rafters in Pelican Place. However, the hot dogs and sausages are winners. If they also had a brown mustard to supplement that dreadful yellow stuff, would come here more often.
Pros: It's a good burger; condiments & toppings are free no matter how many you get; Freestyle Coke Masheen means I can get an Orange Coke and gross out my friends, even though it's totally delicious and worth trying for yourself; restaurants are bright and reasonably clean during off peak periods; free peanuts. Cons: It's just too expensive for what you get; fries are terrible, limp, greasy little slices of sadness; lack of proper plates and silverware means it's super messy; no free wifi.
Conclusion: Fine, if you're craving this specific flavor burger. But there are better places, both nicer and cheaper than this. You'll spend pennies more at Fish River or Cosmo's in Orange Beach but get a vastly superior burger at either sit down restaurant. If you want to spend $$$ but want a drive through's convenience, go to Hardee's. They're darn near this good and made fresh to boot. Best of all? Save your money and bide your time until the Whataburger next door is open. It's almost as tasty, but they're noticeably cheaper AND have recurring specials that blow the doors of a standard bacon burger, like the green chile double or the cheddar chophouse.
A greasy limp thumbs up.. I've eaten at several different Five Guys and they're all super greasy, so it's not just this location. The more you get on your burger, the messier it will be. It's not necessarily my favorite but somehow I do get a craving for it from time to time.
