One person working 4th July covering tables and the bar, because someone called in sick. We got sat down place our drink order and she never came back. We waited a half hour for our drinks and left instead of waiting any longer. Too bad, I was ready to spend some $$$. If you are staying during a holiday weekend make sure you bring food with you or maybe ordering online will be ok. The resturants around town were mostly closed. The breakfast on the other hand, was well organized and very good. Server was excellent. It was worth it if you purchase online. $20 for people in the room. Meal type: Breakfast

Very innovative menu. The avocado bites and smoked honey appetizer was really good! Not really a water view as there is forest between the patio and the lake. We did see a young deer during our visit! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

So relaxing!! And delicious!! We patronized the Flask & Beaker restaurant on there ground floor of The State View when we stayed in Raleigh recently. The service was incredible (shout out to Valerie) and the food was hot and delicious. We opted for the side Cesar salad instead of the fries that came with our sandwiches and they were fresh and tasty. Since it was a lovely evening we decided to sit outside and take in the view that overlooked Johnson Lake. The grounds of The State View are meticulously kept and we enjoyed some after dinner drinks while we watched the sunset over the lake. The whole experience was wonderful.
