It’s pretty good to discover such a lovely restaurant right in the city centre. I’ve been wanting to check it out, and I’m glad we did. We might even go back for that mushroom French toast treat at the start. The steak could have been a bit better, but maybe we got a tough or chewy cut. Otherwise, all our main courses and desserts were spot on. The cocktails were fantastic, and nothing beats a little flambé dessert to wrap up the night. We had such a great night at Fleur. The whole vibe was really nice and relaxed, the food and wine was honestly so good. We went with the set menu with wine pairings and loved it – every course was delicious and really well done. We were also provided delicious gluten free options that were amazing. Ceci looked after us and she was amazing. Super friendly, attentive and just made the night easy and enjoyable. We had the best time and will definitely be back! My partner and I, as well as 6 friends booked a private dining room for my partner’s birthday last Saturday 17th January 2026 at 6 pm. The food was fine (special highlight to the amazing lamb dish) although very expensive for tiny portions. However, the service standards were really not fine. The manager-waitress did not know well at all about what we were eating, poor advice and also poor service (frequently interrupting while I was eating to top up water - I didn’t understand why water got topped up soo often when not even less than half full. Now I understand she was trying to make us pay for as many bottles of insanely priced water as possible!). We booked a private dining room for my partner’s birthday because we want intimacy in enjoying quality moments together. However this was interrupted so often by the same manager-waitress interrupting our own discussions out of nowhere! I’ve never seen this before honestly, especially in a fine dining setting!! Even more shocking was how she became flirty with my partner, probably not noticing that he is my partner beforehand Right in front of my eyes, she gets closer and closer to his chair, put her hand on top of his chair clearly touching where his back is leaning. Then she starts speaking, about what??? About how she downloaded dating app and gave it a try, because she is single…then she talked about her age, herself and herself.…I’m surprised she’s not asking for his phone number. Felt totally unreal, uncomfortable and inappropriate. Seriously shocking and no standards at all, especially when it comes to premium/private customer service standards. For a premium venue and a dining setting like that, she should have spread the napkin on each guest’s lap. Also I noticed she cleared stuff we did not even had finished. She shouldn’t have rushed parts of the dinner, especially when she brought my birthday cake as we were in the middle of eating dessert!! Also, she should have demonstrated decent knowledge of wines, and of the food we are eating. I was shocked that when we inquired about the caviar, what caviar it is, where it comes from, she just says “it is fish”. Then she has to go talk to the chef to actually know about it. When the meat dish arrives, she insists that the gravy gets poured on the vegetables only, not the meat…. Thing is I’m a chef myself, and I try to make her understand that gravy is primarily intended to be served over meat (understandable because it is made the juices, drippings of meat). She completely dismisses my point and keeps on saying it’s meant for the vegetables not the meat. None of us gave a tip and following that her attitude went very cold. There were leftover of my birthday cakes, I was waiting for her to ask me what I would like to do with it, if I want to put it away, bring it home… She doesn’t propose anything so as we are about to leave, I ask her if she would please mind cling wrapping it for me. She comes back with the big professional kitchen cling wrap, drop it in the middle of the table at that’s it! Objectively, food is good, although portions very small and price is very high. My partner and I had nice birthday moments between friends. However, the service was honestly by far the worst I have ever seen, quite inappropriate. Food: 3 Price per person: A$200+
