Didn’t expect to find an authentic, heartwarming Chinese restaurant located in prime CBD of Auckland. First time in New Zealand, and I visited some other more ‘popular’ fusion food restaurants around the area, like Culprit and Depot, for dinner. As good as they were, they could not compare to this lovely, casual Chinese outfit that most people will likely overlook for its simplistic layout. I went alone, and ordered their water boiled beef stew 水煮牛肉 and their dry stir fried French beans 乾煸四季豆. I was pleasantly surprised by the dishes kept their strong flavor they are known for (when we eat them in China) while balanced in oil and seasoning. On top, the lady boss was extremely kind and helpful throughout, and was very courteous both with customers who were literate in Mandarin and even more so with those without. Thankful to this restaurant for giving a cozy taste of authentic Chinese food. Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
