Half a bagel with smashed avocado and feta was $18, a bit ridiculous. Coffee was good but we had in and everything still came in takeaway containers? A bit of a waste I felt. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

The lady who served us was not very friendly, then our matchas were absolutely filled with chunks and extremely unpleasant to drink. A shame because the IG shows matcha being whisked properly and the powder seems good quality. So disappointed, not drinkable and $21.40 :( Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Folk & Merchant is one of my favourite spots in Scarborough. The courtyard is such a hidden gem — spacious, leafy, and super relaxing, with a small play area that makes it perfect if you’ve got kids in tow. It has a really calm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. The coffee is consistently great, and the staff are always friendly and down-to-earth. I love that it’s also dog-friendly — you’ll often see happy pups lounging around while their owners enjoy a coffee or brunch. Even in the cooler months it’s lovely to sit outside with a warm drink. If you’re after a casual, community-focused café with plenty of space to unwind, Folk & Merchant is definitely worth a visit. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
