This is the only movie theatre in Vilhelmina, so I'm bumping up my review to four stars for the convenience of not having to drive several hours to a bigger town just to watch Independence Day 2. (Hey, you need something to do in this tiny Swedish town!) The theatre is on the second floor and is more like a high school auditorium than a proper theatre, but it gets the job done. You're allowed to bring your own snacks, so you don't have to purchase popcorn or drinks at the concession. I think that's really nice! If only all theatres let you do that! The screen is smaller than a standard theatre, but I felt it did its job just fine. The picture and sound qualities were reliable and better than I expected. Also, they don't just play movies in Swedish. Blockbusters typically are released in English with Swedish subtitles. This was really convenient for me (a non-Swedish speaker), but when there were only subtitles for the plot with no narration, I had no idea what was being said! Haha. My fault, not the theatre's. Folkets hus also has a library, bowling, swimming, and restaurants inside. I think ownership of the bowling alley may have changed, and prices might be cheaper now. But I'm not 100% on that. Anyway, folkets hus is a good common area for the town, and you will definitely run into someone you know!
