Madison / Sun Prairie, WI—what is going on with these prices?! I just got charged $30 for a bowl a BOWL. That’s insane. At this point, I don’t even feel like it’s worth it anymore. I’m done coming here. If customers are paying premium prices, everything should be fair across the board. No excuses. Something’s not adding up. Be smart. Don’t fall for it. Honestly—cook at home and save your money. Oh, and the employees eat for free, and I noticed they take large portions. Just be fair and treat everyone equally.

Three stars for the very friendly employee that helped me out, otherwise would have been 1. The service is this places only saving grace. While I can appreciate the aspect of a “health” food option, the amount of sodium based on their outdated nutrition menu is astronomical. Secondly, as pictured my avocado was almost entirely brown throughout. I understand this is not a food safety concern it is a quality concern and I feel any self respecting establishment should not be okay with serving food like this. The hard boiled egg had a brown spot I had to cut off. Lastly, walking in, I’m not sure if it’s just bad acoustic or lack of manners but it was so loud it was as if people sitting at the table together were trying to have active conversations with those across the entire restaurant all at once. All around dud experience. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1

Yes, that space has some acoustical challenges, and we have tried to mitigate with several noise-dampening solutions. I have always loved forage kitchen, even before this location opened up. I remember having the food here for the first time and just being so surprised of how much flavor is packed in a small bowl!! When I discovered there was one that was going to open just a few minutes away from my house, I was super excited! no long car trips just to eat at Forage Kitchen! The staff are very friendly here and I have not had a bad experience going here yet. As a vegan, I love all the options I have here, I love how things are super customizable. However, today I discovered they got rid of their awesome hummus. I was bummed, but there is a black bean dip that is pretty similar, so I am not completely devastated by this change. although the hummus is gone, I would still recommend for anyone who is vegan/vegetarian! I will be coming back for years to come! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection Vegetarian options: Lots and lots of options!! Dietary restrictions: Very vegan friendly as well!!
