A pretty far café with pancakes so I came to try it A bit away from Ikebukuro station. Closed Monday to Wednesday The cafe entrance is hidden within the trees and bushes. One drink required I didn’t know but the pancakes and crepes are only on weekend Lucky me coming around 2pm weekend 700 coffee 1000 classic pancake * No drink set or discount available Overall a bit on the pricy side considering the remote location Relaxing music playing Love the vibe here The pancakes aren’t like Japanese pancakes. They remind me kinda of American style. Super soft with butter on top I wish they had option to do 3 pancakes The vintage coffee and pancakes were so good that I wanted to try their cheese cake too. Oh no sold out Tried their matcha tiramisu instead. First time trying so can’t really compare but liked it 850 matcha tiramisu Will need to come back to try their cheesecake Meal type: Lunch Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Cafe Forest is an unassuming cafe, but once you taste the food, you realize its value. We ordered the fruit crepe with orange, the classic pancake, and the perilla shiso toast. It was served in succession, toast first, then pancake, and saving the best (fruit crepe) for last. Taking one bite of the pancake, it was the tastiest, most succulent I’ve had in a long time. It’s a simple western style, contrasting the soufflé pancake common here in Japan. The fruit crepe was a masterpiece. Beautiful presentation, simple, yet delicious. The ice cream pairs really well with the orange reduction sauce, and the textures all match well. It was the most delicious crepe, and very unexpected culinary expertise from such a quaint cafe. I got a cold brew coffee and it is not too bitter, and not too smooth. I think it is just how I like it. I give it five stars because the interior is nice as well as the people. The price is inexpensive, and justified for the quality of ingredients as well as fantastic preparation. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
