We have been visiting Fortuna restaurant for many years, but a few days ago we suffered a huge disappointment. The premium gastro experience turned into a completely average meal for a very high price. ( 2 person 130 €) The pizza dough used to be always excellent, but now it was heavy, unsalted, and thick. The tartufo pasta and fish was just a simple mushroom sauce with truffles here and there; the texture of the sauce was also completely different. We don't know what has changed—perhaps a new chef who is not that good—but the restaurant is now just a shadow of its former self. We are very sorry about this, as it used to be one of the best in Rovinj. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50+ Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

*NOTE* because of the bad reply by the owners I changed the review! I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service was slow, inattentive, and unprofessional. Staff seemed uninterested in helping customers and acted as if serving guests was an inconvenience (except the owner). +no Croatian speakers except the owner. Such a shame! The food was even more disappointing. It arrived lukewarm, lacked flavor, and looked carelessly prepared. Presentation was poor, portions were underwhelming, and the overall meal felt like a complete waste of money. (!Avoid pasta!) To make matters worse, the restaurant was not as clean as it should have been. The tables were sticky and the overall atmosphere felt neglected. A restaurant can have an occasional bad day, but this experience reflected a lack of standards and management. Instead of focusing on quality and customer satisfaction, it seems they’re relying on reputation while delivering a product that falls far below expectations. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. There are far better restaurants that actually value their customers and provide food worth paying for. Unless they make significant improvements, I won’t be returning. We welcome constructive criticism, but judging our staff based on the language they speak(they speak more than one language including english) says more about your education, attitude and xenophobic view on the world than about our service. Our team communicates effectively with thousands of guests every season, and we are very proud of our international staff and service we provide as a team. As for the food, we are sorry it wasn’t to your taste but friendly advice, don’t pour a whole lemon in your food. We wish you all the best regardless.

I felt the urge to review, since it looks like I was directly mentioned in the owner's reply to my friends review. I was offered a word of advice: not to pour a whole lemon on the food. This would otherwise be sound advice had it not been for the fact that without the lemon my food would be at best tasteless and at worst unpleasant to eat. Its a shame, the place is nice enough and the owner seems like he cares because he was the only polite man there. Dissapointing
