I may be wrong, but I think this place has shut shop! I went there twice in last 2 months and it was closed over the weekend. Karaoke nights on Fri-Sat were great fun! Guess not anymore.

This review is my 365th of 2019. Crazy! It's only August 25th. Last year, I had a goal to complete 365 reviews in a year. I thought that meeting this goal on October 14 was decent. I just shattered my own record without really having this goal in mind. I thank my travels, as exploring so many cool places makes it easy for me to write and share my experiences. Now, back to this review, which is fitting for this milestone. My student's last day of her work term was last Friday. In the past, she had told me that she had had a bad experience at her last work term. Folks treated her like she didn't exist, which is horrible. Luckily, I don't work that way. I am the person in my little department who organizes lunches for students and colleagues who are arriving or leaving the company. I did just that with my student and asked where she wanted to go. She selected Fox and Fiddle Precinct. I was excited to eat here. She drove three of us over to the eatery. It's roughly a fifteen-minute drive from our office. There is parking on Dundas Street West, but it's metered. I'd recommend parking behind the restaurant and pub, which is free. The confusing part about parking at the back is finding the entrance. There are green steps that go up to the pub, but you would be entering from the patio area. The main doors face Dundas. We cut through a mall-like complex (there's a nail salon on the first floor) to go up steps to the doors. It's an odd setup. If you need an elevator, you are out of luck. I didn't see one. I hope that there is one and that I had simply missed seeing it. Fox and Fiddle Precinct is where the Toronto Commissary Offices used to be eons ago. We walked in and were asked to sit wherever we wanted. I had made a reservation and realized that it was so dead that it wasn't necessary! We went to the back and sat at a table for the six of us. We got menus and were served by Tracy, who was great. There is a foosball table. You can also play pool and watch games on the main screens everywhere. We were thrilled to see a happy hour lunch menu. It's pretty cheap to get a meal for $8.95. Yes! I got the roast beef dip. It comes with fries. You can substitute them for a side salad. I went with fries. I also got a Creemore Springs beer. It's rare for me to not be driving, so I was taking advantage of the situation. I liked that we placed our orders by name. It made things easier, with my student's name on her bill. I am the expense person on our team, so it helps me out. Our beverages came out first. I love Creemore Springs. It's smooth and crisp for a beer. Our food didn't take long to get to us. The roast beef dip was yummy. The beef was tender and flavourful. The dip was perfect. It wasn't too salty, but had deep beef flavour. The baguette was delicious! It was crusty where it should be, but tender so you don't tear the roof off your mouth. I wish that there were mushrooms, though. My fries were good and tasted great dipped in ketchup and the beef dip. My intern and manager got fish and chips. They loved their food. You get one piece of fish. If that's not enough, you can order the two-piece meal. Cash, and credit and debit cards are accepted. If you are using the machine to pay, tap doesn't work. We were all pleased with our meals. Happy hour lunch specials rule! I like getting yummy food without breaking the bank. Such a gem here! There is also a breakfast menu, which seems to be held all day. My student chose well. I'm glad that we sent her off on a good note. I handed her a card signed by all of us and a gift card as a little thank-you for her hard work after we had finished our meals. It was great to celebrate her over decent food. (365)
