I visited Francesco's as a hungry traveller, eager to experience Gozo's renowned hospitality and local cuisine. The initial experience was lovely I was warmly welcomed by a kind international waitress, and I ordered soup, a pizza, and house wine. The soup arrived promptly and was fine. Unfortunately, the experience degraded significantly from there. I waited over an hour for a single pizza, all while watching a steady stream of takeaway and delivery orders leave the kitchen. Eventually, I had to approach the bar to ask whether my order was still coming or if I should eat elsewhere. Service priorities aside, when the pizza finally arrived, it was dry, lacking flavor, and far below expectations; I only ate it because I was so hungry, and left to wait for an hour in the street without any attention given. Management would do well to remember that dining in should take priority over delivery, and that basic respect for a guest's time is paramount. Giving 2 stars strictly for the welcoming service of the waitress. It is a true shame that management leaves such a bitter aftertaste in an otherwise beautiful place like Gozo.
