The prices are very high, the platters simply ridiculous in the tiny quantities served, the drinks as if we were in a bar in the center of Milan or Rome. I understand that the Burgio brothers want to exploit tourism, but this place, which is a grocery store, has become too expensive to eat practically nothing: perhaps the Burgio brothers have forgotten that the Syracuse market hosts them and that you eat among the fruit and fish stalls? Shortly before we wanted to leave Syracuse, on the way to the parking lot, we actually "stumbled" across Fratelli Burgio - beautifully located, on the corner of a busy square, not far from the water. What a hustle and bustle! When we were there, people were literally lining up to get a seat inside! Actually incomprehensible, it was still nice and sunny outside at the time and pleasantly warm - and: there was a pavilion where you could also take a seat...we stayed outside. We were a bit hesitant but one of the service staff said that we should definitely eat a certain panino, whose name I unfortunately don't remember...we would never want to eat anything else again! No sooner said than done - and it was really great, he didn't exaggerate! The bread is super fresh, crispy, delicious... the sun-dried tomatoes in oil, the prosciutto, the eggplant cream, the salad, mega! Really great, thank you. Aperol Spritz and espresso were irrelevant.... Oh, and everyone was very friendly, despite a lot of stress and hecticness.
