Freedom Bar is pretty near Wardour Street. A number of guests have noticed that you can have good seafood here. This place is known for delicious coffee martini, prosecco or Mojitos. Visitors don't highly appreciate juice at this bar.
It's easy to find Freedom Bar due to its convenient location. The patient waitstaff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Prompt service is something that people note in their comments. From the guests' viewpoint, prices are democratic. There is an exotic atmosphere and modern decor at this place. Unfair door policy and selective exclusion. At 1:10 AM on Saturday, 18th April, my friend and I joined the queue outside Freedom Bar in Soho. There were eight people ahead of us in line. We were both exceptionally well-dressed, visible members of the LGBTQ+ community, and excited for a good night out—especially since I had visited twice before. After we had been waiting for 15 minutes, a bouncer came out from inside, whispered to the bouncer holding the clipboard, and both looked directly at my friend and me. The bouncer then walked straight past everyone else in line, approached us directly, and asked if we had booked. When I said no, he claimed it was a private event and that we couldn't enter without being on the list. I offered to pay entry on the spot, but he abruptly shut us down, claiming the venue was full. Several details made it blatantly obvious that this was a manufactured excuse:. Targeted questioning: None of the other eight people in line were questioned, asked for bookings, or turned away. Fabricated guest list: I was close enough to see the clipboard clearly. While there were names written on the paper, not a single name was checked or ticked off as people entered. No private event: I checked the venue’s official website immediately on my phone; it was listed as a standard, open Saturday night with no private bookings advertised. My friend and I were targeted and selectively excluded. Experiencing this level of overt discrimination from a venue in Soho—a space that purports to offer "freedom" and inclusion—was deeply hurtful and humiliating. Freedom Bar does not offer freedom; it practices selective, biased door policies. With a 3.5-star rating, it is clear many others have faced similar mistreatment. Management should be ashamed of how their door team manipulates situations to isolate paying, well-dressed people. Soho venues that behave like this eventually lose the community's trust entirely, and time will tell how long this venue lasts. Consider yourselves warned. 5 black peoples and you turn us all way on the claims you have a private event. RACISM at it highest. We observe other patron that don’t look like us let right in after. This is not the first time either. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £20–30
