Frida, a Spanish-Mexican establishment located in the vibrant Chueca neighborhood of Madrid, offers a charming ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The interior design is tastefully done, with an appealing decor that creates a relaxed atmosphere. The price range is on the higher side, but the quality of the food justifies it.
The menu features a variety of dishes, including Tabbouleh salad, Pizza chorizo, Wellington-style jamón iberico with truffled puréed potatoes, and the famous Egg Benedict with Latin twist. Cocktails like vodka with sparkling water and G&T with strawberry infused gin are worth trying. Soft drinks and wines are also available.
While the service can be hit or miss, the food is the star of the show at this fine dining spot. The outdoor terrace is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal or drink while taking in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood. Overall, Frida is a great place to visit for a special occasion or a night out with friends.
First time in Spain that I get poisoned in a restaurant. And it wasn't just me, my companion feels even worse than me. We had dinner last night at Frida and a few hours later we started to feel unwell. Gastroenteritis and desire to vomit. The food tasted good but it is clear that something was in poor condition as it affected two people. We think it was the curry chicken crepe.
