Easily the best Sushi in Auckland. The food at Fuga isn’t ordinary fancy tourist Sushi but very authentic distinct and selective Japanese delicatessen. We had a fantastic selection of Sushi, Sashimi and light grilled salmon that enlightened our taste buds. It was all very different from what we usually know and focused on the most important parts of Sushi - taste. The portion sizes are very good and larger than most other restaurants would serve them. At the same time everything is also very reasonably priced for Auckland city center, which makes eating at Fuga even more enjoyable. The manager Eriko is a delight as well as her staff. Everyone is so very friendly and helpful. We’d come back any time we’re in Auckland. Thank you for a fantastic food experience. Like you, I had been reading reviews before deciding on where to eat. There were some recent negative reviews that nearly made us choose a different place, but then my wife and read the overwhelming amount of positive reviews and decided to give it a chance. We had the harumaki, udon, and “fuga box” which included miso, sashimi, sushi, chicken and more. Our food was absolutely incredible. Portions were great. But most importantly the hostess (and we believe they were also the owner?) was the sweetest and kindest human possible. She made every effort to make sure we were happy without being overwhelming. She answered our questions about the menu perfectly (some items just said they included “sushi” and she was happy to explain what type of sushi (ours was tuna and salmon). My wife and I truly can’t say enough how amazing the food and service were and hope others will give this a try. Not sure what the negative reviews could possibly be other than spite. This would easily get 10 / 5 stars if possible. You won’t regret it Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian options including veggie udon which was delicious.

5 star service and food! Very close to where I was staying so decided to check it out. The place is very unassuming. Greeted by the friendly owner. I ended up getting the Tempura Bento for lunch - 2 prawns, bean, pumpkin, zucchini and eggplant - some of the best cooked tempura I've ever had. The tofu was also great and the salmon pieces on rice was a pleasant surprise (be careful - has some small bones!) Overall great legit Japanese food in Auckland.
