Long line to wait but offers good coffee. Worthy of a try and can decide if go again. Nice neighborhood to sit outside and people watch. Don’t expect cheap coffee, everything is money: beans and a cup of coffee, expensive! Meal type: Other Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

I was looking for a spot to kill some time as my friend was shopping in the Shibuya area. Fuglen Tokyo was a spot I visited at around 6 PM on a Saturday. I really like the atmosphere of the shop, but it was incredibly busy inside and outside. This shop seems more accommodating to small to moderate size groups. I browsed the menu and decided to get the coffee recommendation of the day. American Express is accepted as a payment option. I waited for a bit, grabbed the order, and was able to find a seat outside. Despite being outside, there is a good amount of lighting above the seat. It was a really cold night, but that hot coffee really kept me warm, so it wasn’t too bad. If you’re looking for a coffee spot that opens late, this would be a really good spot. I wish I could’ve gone earlier in the day or maybe later at night in hopes of it being less busy. I couldn’t find myself staying very long past finishing the coffee. This has quickly become my favorite coffee chain in Tokyo—easily surpassing Blue Bottle in my opinion. I visited on a quiet, rainy morning, and the calm, soothing atmosphere made it even more enjoyable, with no crowds at all. The service was also excellent—attentive and polished. Both the Americano and hot chocolate were fantastic, rich and full of flavor. I especially liked that you can adjust the strength of your Americano by adding your own water after the espresso shot—I went for a stronger, less diluted taste, and it was perfect.
