Felt like a warm, homemade meal made and served by the sweetest grandma ever! We arrived around 2:15 PM, close to their 3 PM closing time, and unfortunately there wasn’t any rice left when I wanted to order more. The sweetest grandma even offered to go to her own home to get more rice for me! Of course, I said no because I didn’t want to trouble her, but I was honestly so touched by how kind and thoughtful she was. After our meal, she surprised us with ice-cold coffee, which was such a lovely gesture. We also had a wonderful conversation with her, which made the whole experience feel even more special. It really felt like being welcomed into someone’s home and sharing a homemade meal with family. Such a lovely little family-run restaurant. If you’re in Shimoda, I highly recommend stopping by! We visited the shop around 1 pm. The curry udon was super good (the best I have ever tried!). Rock seaweed ramen was very interesting. Coffee was nice too. The shop owners (two sweet ladies) gave us flowers before we left. Super nice place and definitely worth it.
