It was my last night sightseeing in Hagi, and I chose Fumi for my last dinner spot. This is a warm restaurant that serves impressively cooked seafood in a homely atmosphere. While there was no prices stated in the menu, I was only charged 3800 yen for two fish dishes, agedashi tofu, nori ochazuke and umeshu, and all the dishes were top quality. So you can be assured that you will be treated more than fairly. I adore the grilled and fried fish and how fresh they were. The agedashi tofu and nori ochazuke was also very comforting and plentiful. Even the table dish had a pleasing, home-grown flavour. The staff and patrons were friendly despite the language barrier, as I could read but not speak Japanese. I am also grateful to the customer from Tokyo who helped to act as an interpreter.
