Very traditional Japanese dining experience! Quality to perfection. It takes a long time to make though so not a good place if you are in a rush. Obviously no vegetarian options they only sell unagi don. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000

Shockingly good. The sweet-salty balance was just right and did not overpower the delicate and fluffy eel. The rice was evenly steamed (fluffy), I nibbled at every last grain. The side dishes were excellent as well; I was hesitant on the dried eel bones but it was seasoned and crisped so well, I wiped that clean too… I’m sad I finished everything so quickly. 10/10 dinner Save the trouble to go to the Michelin list/rated or hyped places and don’t sleep on Funakane. Cozy and humble spot, run by mom, dad, daughter; except that the Unaju was first class. Cash only. Food: 5 Service: 5 Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000
