Shockingly good. The sweet-salty balance was just right and did not overpower the delicate and fluffy eel. The rice was evenly steamed (fluffy), I nibbled at every last grain. The side dishes were excellent as well; I was hesitant on the dried eel bones but it was seasoned and crisped so well, I wiped that clean too I’m sad I finished everything so quickly. 10/10 dinner Save the trouble to go to the Michelin list/rated or hyped places and don’t sleep on Funakane. Cozy and humble spot, run by mom, dad, daughter; except that the Unaju was first class. Cash only. Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5
