Fung Wah Restaurant Ltd in Halifax is an excellent spot for Chinese takeout. From the reviews, it is clear that they have a wide selection of dishes to choose from and customers are always pleased with the quality of their food. The Pork Belly with Preservative (R9) and Jelly Fish with Sliced Beef (R23) are especially popular dishes and customers have commented on the flavorful star anise and black sweet soy sauce in the former. The portions may be small for larger families, but the prices are very reasonable. Furthermore, customers have praised the friendly customer service and fast delivery. Several reviews have mentioned the delicious BBQ Duck and Combo 8, which are also highly recommended. Overall, Fung Wah Restaurant Ltd is a great place to get your Chinese takeout fix.
This place is probably the best I have had in Halifax. We ordered a combo and it reminded of the old Tung Hing in Dartmouth but even better. Highly recommended. The chicken fried rice is really good. The chowmein was tasty and not bland and the chicken balls were awesome. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Have always enjoyed the food from here, but very disappointed this evening. The food was cold and the portions were much smaller than usual.
Last night was the first time ordering from Fung Wah. Extremely bad experience. To begin with the food was basically tasteless. The chicken fried rice had zero flavor, even after adding soya sauce. The chicken balls were bland, the spring roll was mostly cabbage and nothing else, and the pork spare ribs had little flavor. It was so tasteless that I ended up only eating about 3 mouthfuls of rice, 2 chicken balls, half a spring roll, and 3 ribs. My husband ended up eating more than me just because he was starving.
From there, the night went down hill. By 11pm, both of us were sick from food poisoning. Nauseous, cold sweats, headache, and my husband ended up throwing up (likely because he ate more than I did).
It took until the morning before I felt better, but my husband is still not 100%.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.
