Sadly a bad food experience on my last night in Rome when I was looking forward to a nice pizza. You know when something looks too artisinal to be good? This was one of those. Pizza crust way too thin and floppy, bad flour and no taste or character, sauce didn't have hardly any salt or flavour, not nearly enough cheese. On top of that poor toppings and distribution. Even their chianti wasn't great. Sorry folks, avoid. There are better options in Trastevere, try on the northern side away from the masses. Everything we had at Taverna 51 was delicious. The Taverna Salad is unlike any salad we’ve had before. The presentation is fun and unique (inside of focaccia). The Baccala Trasteverina was filling yet light and flavorful. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €20–30
