Come here for good chocolate pie, apple crumble and fruitcake if you are hungry. A lot of visitors order delicious chardonnay, gin or whiskey. Cannot believe how hospitable they were! Best tastes of Tasmanian whiskies and Oysters! Cannot recommend it enough of you are a fan of classy secluded fine dining. We almost spent 3 hours in the restaurant and ultimately enjoyed a top notch service as well as a super tasty lamb shoulder!!! (Its a must try) Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The restaurant is a shadow of its former self. We got married here 10 years ago, including a very large reception in the restaurant. We came back to celebrate our anniversary this week. Stewart's Bay Lodge are extremely accommodating and even upgraded our accommodation. On the Bay Restaurant couldn't be further from the hospitality. Hardly greeted when we walked in, bartender reeled off drinks as if it were McDonalds, and couldn't be bothered with small talk or chit chat. Asked about both dinner and breakfast menus and just had them plonked down in front of us. It was hardly busy, we were the only 2 in the restaurant at this point. Having the surly attitude and alarmingly unwelcoming vibe, we took our money to the Port Arthur Takeaway at the entrance. And have already scouted different locations for tomorrow nights dinner! Will definitely be back to SBL, but we won't be bothering with this "fine" establishment. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
