**English review following** Excellent restaurant, inexpensive and authentic. The owner is an army on his own, he takes care of everything. From the service to the tables, and from the bar to the kitchen. I had the chance to taste there one of the best Aperol spritz value for money to which I was entitled in Florence (You can believe me when I say it, I drank at least 2 a day for a week all over town). My wife and I chose the carbonara and the pesto pasta. The food was good and the portions generous. One of the things I loved about Gargantua is that it's not filled with Americans making inappropriate comments like "this kind of thing would never happen in New York". It is a humble, simple and very relaxed place. The music was also on point and not too loud, very different from some other places on the same street corner. Excellent place, affordable and authentic. The owner is a one man army and he does everything. We got the chance to taste the best and cheapest spritz available in Florence (believe me when I say it, I drank at least 2 a day for a week, all over the city). We got the carbonaras and the pesto pastas, both were excellent and big portions. One of the thing I appreciated the most about the Gargantua is the fact that it wasn't crowded with obnoxious Americans screaming this or that wouldn't fly in New York. Its a humble, relaxed and calm little restaurant. Music choices were on point as well, not like some of the competition on the same bloc. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
