We recently tried to book The Garrison for a family meal involving guests with accessibility needs. We asked a straightforward question about toilet access, as there was no usable toilet on the relevant floor. What put us off wasn’t simply that the facilities weren’t available. It was the response. When we explained the booking was still a couple of weeks away and asked whether the issue was likely to be fixed, the reaction was dismissive and, remarkably, laughed off. No attempt to check, no indication that anyone cared when it might be resolved, and no acknowledgement of why it mattered. Accessibility problems can happen. Treating them as somebody else’s problem is a choice. If accessibility matters to you or someone you’re dining with, I wouldn’t rely on The Garrison to take it seriously. A very relaxing lunch with my economically inactive friends to celebrate the end of the week! The staff were friendly and very patient, and the food was delicious. A lovely, laid back spot for a catch-up, we’ll definitely be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £50–60

Prolly the best roast beef my tummy has seen in years. Just delicious and super staff esp. Brenda who made us feel welcome and really helped my disabled sister to have a great experience. Thanks!
