We came into the bar at 11:30. My husband and I are clearly older (we're 47 and 55)... Anyway we sat at the bar and the bartender was really being super rude so my husband asked her "is everything ok" and she said " yeah it's fine but I was just about to close the bar and now youre here" I said "oh honey we just walked over and it's late, we are just having one" ..she then said "as long as you dont drink until 2:30" to which other people in the bar made jokes but SERIOUSLY? It was Saturday night. I have never been greeted that way and I hope I never am again. We left immediately. Im certain she was in the barq for longer than we would have kept her, given there were at least 9 other people in the bar. Not appreciated. We dont go out much and this is not the first time she has been rude. Service: 1

If you wander to Poynette heading south on Hwy 51, turn right at any street and go straight to Main St. Just past Main, you'll find an alley. Turn there and travel a block or so and discover Gasoline Alley! This is one of the coolest little bars you'll ever see. It's very small, with bar seating and a few video games and tables, but there's a big patio to the side to use when the weather allows. The beer is cold, the atmosphere friendly, and, wait for it, the food is very good! There is a list of appetizers...potato skins are awesome as are the cheese curds. They have hot sandwiches. Try the prime rib, the chicken, or the hot ham and cheese! They serve a few entrees, and the fish fry is dynamite! I haven't had the pizza yet, though a friend loves it! Don't look for a burger...no grill...but who cares? Gasoline Alley is very reasonably priced, and I think you're going to like it.
