i mean it was fine. But i started feeling sick half way through so couldn't finish it. afterwards i felt fine but it was just not super great sushi. i got robed in by BOGO and let me tell you i wouldn't buy this again if the app would give me $10 bucks. thanks for the lunch tho genji
Ok. Let's set a few things on the table. 1. This wasn't as horrible as I was expecting. 2. Always check Yelp *before* hitting the order button. 3. And yes, this sushi was from....Amazon. (Well technically it's from your local Whole Foods Store! ) I got pulled in by ubereats with a BOGO offer for 5 or 6 kinds of "fancy" rolls (IOW they have names for them). Photos looked good, never heard of the place but for some reason I thought it was part of Genji Japanese Steakhouse down the street for some reason that does pretty ok sushi. So I order BOGO of two different tuna rolls, which I quickly realized upon delivery are pretty much the same roll with a swap of garnishes. Already having had Amazon sushi in my life, this batch was pretty typical for grocery store sushi: too much rice made the pieces so big I had to drop them into my mouth like a seal swallowing sardines. And oh my oh my so much freakin sauce on both of them, I don't understand why cheap sushi always needs to be buried in a sea of sauces. Sigh. Well, cheap it was though. I got BOGO Spicy Tuna Sushi Bombs and Crunchy Tuna Rolls. So 4 huge rolls (at $60 minus $30 BOGO plus fees and tip) was under 40 bucks delivered. Well packed with pickled ginger, packets of shoyu and wasabi, and chopsticks. Ummm, did I mention these things were ginormous? Probably won't buy again here but it's all I ate all day long and hey! it's a pandemic. YOLO. YMMV. 乾杯 Kanpai
Was excited to try this sushi, but was disappointed very fast. I got the spicy salmon and spicy crunchy california roll. The spicy sauce is spicy mayo but it pretty much tastes like franks red hot and and they coat everything in the sushi in it. The crunchy pieces were soggy and not crunchy what so ever. The crab stick in the california tasted weeks old and the plate only comes with ginger and no wasabi. The salmon and avocado seemed fine. I was expecting sushi a little different than kroger but i think it might've been worse. Overall I would never eat this sushi again and probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone I care about.
