I actually had good teppanyaki dinners here twice, during my stay at Hilton Nagoya. I also had an excellent sake, which I drank during both sessions. However, when I wanted to buy a bottle of the sake to enjoy in my room, they refused to sell it and insisted I can only drink it in the restaurant. Even if I ordered food and the sake, I have to finish it in the restaurant. LOL. Food and atmosphere gets the top score, but I am appalled at their "service". Last September our family trip from Seoul, Korea in 2024, we had the pleasure of dining at Genji, an exceptional Japanese restaurant located inside the Nagoya Hilton. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a warm and elegant atmosphere, seamlessly blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern sophistication. Led by the talented **Chef Masashi Hisada**, Genji delivers an authentic and refined Japanese dining experience. We opted for the omakase sushi platter, which showcased the freshest seasonal seafood, each piece carefully crafted and bursting with delicate flavors. The **wagyu beef teppanyaki** was another standout—cooked to perfection on the teppan grill, with a buttery texture and deep umami richness that made every bite unforgettable. The restaurant also offers an impressive selection of beer and Japanese teas, perfectly complementing the meal. The service was impeccable, with the staff providing detailed explanations of each dish while ensuring our comfort throughout the evening. Genji at Nagoya Hilton is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and luxurious Japanese dining experience. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or a first-time visitor to Japan, Chef Masashi Hisada’s culinary mastery will leave a lasting impression. We will definitely return on our next visit to Nagoya!
