Having had Genki in Hawaii, it was so nice to discover that we had one after moving here several years ago. The flavors are amazing and consistent, the place is always clean/hygienic, and the staff always attentive and friendly. Kid friendly options are also on the menu which is a plus. Highly recommend. What a ripoff. I understand that prices have gone up over time, but it’s worth putting things into perspective. A plate of Garlic Salmon is listed at $4.85 on their current menu. In 2017, that same dish was $2.90 (as shown on a Google Maps image), which represents about a 67.2% increase. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Inflation Calculator, $2.90 in 2017 has the same purchasing power as roughly $3.98 in 2026. That means the current price is about $0.87 higher than what inflation alone would account for. If I bought 10 Garlic Salmon plates, I would be paying $8.70 more, on top of inflation, just because. Minimum wage in Renton in 2017 was $11/hr. Today it is $17.13/hr, a 55% increase. Don't tell me that's because of wages, inflation, or whatever else you want to call it, because the math ain't mathin. Genki sucks. Meal type: Dinner Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

Food - its conveyor built sushi. The sushi rolls around and around until someone decides to eat it. Its not the best quality but I feel pretty confident im not going to be sick later. For the price, id say I've had better at the same price point. Service - came here maybe 45 min before closing? They sat a huge group while we were waiting for a seat. There were lots of counter seats and we marked on the check in that we were fine with counter. There were also open tables. And people weren't necessarily doing nothing but it really felt like we were the lowest priority and that they wanted us to just leave. All they had to say was sit down right there. But instead they were clearing tables (there was no one else who needed seating but us). I used to waitress at sit down restaurants and I dont think I'm being too harsh. Atmosphere - its conveyor belt sushi which I think is fun. Its cute. The restaurant is clean. The atmosphere is perfect for families, casual dates, hanging out with friends.
