Enjoy Former Hagi City Meirin Elementary School and come to this restaurant. Don't forget to try good fried chicken, fried fish and sashimi at Gin. During my first day in Hagi, it was already late and most restaurants were completely full. That’s when I found Gin. I was warmly welcomed, and like in so many places across Japan, despite my very limited Japanese, I still had an awesome time. Everyone was incredibly kind — from the ladies to the staff at the bar and in the kitchen. The atmosphere was great, the recommendations were excellent, and they really made me feel comfortable and welcome. Thank you for such a memorable experience! Ridiculous. It was one of the few places open until 2300 on a Sunday, and that was what drew us in for a late supper. We were absolutely not prepared for how amazing this place was going to be. The food is five star, sensitively prepared, fresh, local - in Europe this would teeter on a star. The staff were all young, enthusiastic, lovely. If the future of Hagi is with these guys then I’m going long all day. We have wonderful restaurants in the UAE and Europe, but if you told me you were going to spend a day and a half travelling for a couple of nights drinking Hagi’s sake and enjoying Hagi’s seafood? I would agree that the air/shinkansen/bus fare was worth it. Wherever you were coming from. Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is a friendly and accommodating place. Larger than most izakayas in Hagi. The whitebait fried rice was wholesome, and the tamagoyaki was bursting with dashi. The staff was very attentive, and offered me water when I was noticably tipsy. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
