We were visiting from America and this extremely approachable little shop was by our hotel. The place was much less expensive than most of the rest of our trip. The food was good portions and had a meaty gnocci my wife and I really enjoyed. The sauce was meaty and rich with flavor which was, surprisingly and disappointingly, hard to find. My wife’s dish was also quite good. The staff was attentive and checked in with us multiple times and were patient when we weren’t so decisive. They bagged and boxed our take away. I wiuld highly recommend them to anyone, but especially if visiting and you are looking for a low stakes meal that still reminds you that you’re visiting the pasta and pizza capital of the world. I stopped at Gino Capitone and had a glass of white house wine along with a quattro formaggi pizza. The pizza was delicious — a great combination of rich cheeses without being too heavy. It was exactly the kind of classic Roman meal I was hoping to have while in Italy. The wine paired nicely with it, and the whole experience felt simple and enjoyable. A great spot to sit down, enjoy some good food, and take in the atmosphere of Rome. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a good pizza experience.
